Hi, I’m Kevin Thayer — Recording Engineer and Musician. I got my start playing in bands through my teens and early 20’s, with some roadie work along the way, before shifting my focus to recording in 2005.
I studied Audio Recording at Cuesta College (San Luis Obispo), Cabrillo College (Aptos), and Recording Connection (Aptos), and gained hands-on experience working at Mars Studios (Aptos, CA), Paradise Recording (Santa Cruz, CA), and in my own studio. Over the years, I’ve recorded in just about every kind of space — living rooms, garages, bedrooms, storage units, even horse barns.
Today, I work out of Tantrum Records Studio in Atascadero, CA, (www.tantrumrecords.co) where I offer Recording, Mixing, and Mastering services backed by 20 years of experience.
